Douglas Lwanga – Professional Biography

Douglas Lwanga is a renowned Ugandan youth advocate, media personality, social entrepreneur, and philanthropist with a passion for youth empowerment, economic development, and creative arts. With over a decade of experience in the media industry, he has built a strong reputation as one of Uganda’s most influential television hosts and entertainment figures.

Currently serving as a television host at Next Media’s NBS TV and the Executive Director of Purple Skills Klinic Foundation, Douglas has dedicated his career to amplifying youth voices, fostering entrepreneurship, and addressing youth unemployment through skill-based training and mentorship. His foundation, Purple Skills Klinic, equips young people with practical skills in creative arts, multimedia, and ICT, empowering them to become self-reliant.

With a social media presence exceeding 2.5 million followers, Douglas leverages his influence to drive positive change, promote local talent, and advocate for youth-focused policies. His extensive career includes hosting some of Uganda’s biggest entertainment shows, including NBS After5 and previously NTV The Beat, where he played a pivotal role in shaping Uganda’s entertainment industry.

As a youth programming consultant, brand ambassador, and speaker, Douglas has collaborated with major corporations, government agencies, and international organizations. He has been a panelist at high-profile events, including the Uganda Parliament Youth Dialogue, CNN Inside Africa, and MTV Africa Youth Day Celebrations. His advocacy extends to marginalized communities, where he champions economic empowerment, social care, and vocational training.

Douglas holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Makerere University and has furthered his expertise in multimedia and creative arts through specialized training at institutions such as APTECH and Kyambogo Polytechnic.
